The biggest contributers to Global Warming & Pollution is from electric power plants. To be more specific, its the coal powered energy plants and there is nothing clean about them.
We cannot go without electric power, so we have to do something about our the most unfriendly energy plants (Coal Energy).
We have been using coal because it is the most abundant resource at a cheap price. Not because it is the best option.

- With no clean coal production facilities available until 2020, can the growing demand of electric energy wait for such a holy grail?
The fact is that coal is so destructive even before it gets to a plant before burning and even more so after it gets there. With coal there are no specific quantities of limits on emissions, particularly carbon dioxide. And it remains the principal cause of anthropogenic climate change and global warming.
