Organic Agriculture & Farming Reduces CO2 Emissions

The naturalists had it right the first time by doing everything organically.

As it turns out the conventional methods of harvesting vegetation through use of chemical fertilization actually reduces plants naturally ability to remove green house gases (CO2) from the atmosphere.

If only 10k farms in the US converted to organic production than that would be enough to satisfy 73% of the Kyoto Treaty's targets for US CO2.

Whats more is that the controlling how US Farms grow their plantation is entirely in our hands. By spreading the awareness of how naturally grown foods are better for health and how buying only from organic raised crops could benefit the environment, citizens could force crop owners to grow their foods naturally. In addition, if each homeowner decided to grown their own small garden, without chemical usage, that 73% might even surpass the 100% market of the Kyoto Treaty.

How much carbon dioxide does that 73% of the Kyoto Treaty represent?

This would represent taking 1,174,400 cars off the road, or reducing car miles driven by 14.62 billion miles. U.S. agriculture currently emits a total of 1.5 trillion pounds of CO2 yearly; however, making this change would not only combat CO2 but would also enrich the soil with 734 billion pounds of carbon.
